GroupWise 7 Client Install

These are instructions on how to download and install the GroupWise 7 client. This procedure is not suitable to be used by non-experienced users. It is a very large download and may take a long time to download. If you plan to install the client on more than one PC we recommend that you explode it and create a CD for local use.

The GroupWise Client is designed for use in a LAN or other high speed network connection. It can be used satisfactorily from home DSL and cable modem network connections. It does not work well over dial-up connections, and the Computer Center will not support such installations. If you are going to install the client at home refer to the GroupWise FAQ as there are additional setup considerations.

Note: If your department uses shared calendars then everyone should upgrade at the same time.

Windows Download & Installation Instructions

Download and run the following file: http://jagmail.usouthal.edu/downloads/GW702HP1Client.exe

1. The above file will automatically unzip and run the InstallShield Wizard for GroupWise.
2. It may install Windows Messaging first and ask you to reboot, if so please do.
3. Read the InstallShield Wizard screens carefully and follow the instructions. We reccommend that you choose Typical for the Setup Type.
4. Then let it run through to termination. There's no need to unload the old version.

MAC Download & Installation Instructions

There is a GroupWise 7 client for MAC OS X. We are still working on the download and installation instructions. In the interim contact Academic Computing for more information.
